The SD Biotech Association is the state affiliate of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO). We are a non-profit Association serving member organizations, businesses, SD Universities, service providers and state-wide Economic Development entities.

We strive to expand the bioscience industry in South Dakota by creating a Bio-based economy in all areas of the life sciences including Human Health, Food and Agriculture and Renewable Energy Biotechnology.

Rapid City, South DakotaThe South Dakota School of Mines & Technology has a focus on bio-based research designed to meet the goals of both industry leaders and state economic development.

            Nestled on the edge of the Black Hills, the School of Mines is one of the state’s three research universities, offering a highly specialized engineering and science education to more than 2,300 students. Its programs include 16 undergraduate degrees, 14 master’s degrees and seven doctorates.
